We started exploring the Matter protocol back in 2019, and now we’re fully embracing this new era. By 2024, ELKO EP Kuwait had become deeply immersed in the smart city landscape, recognizing that our smart pole and the integration of IoT was a crucial pillar in this evolving concept. Leading a group of Czech companies, we focused on embedding IoT technologies and robust Building Management Systems (BMS) into our smart city solutions. With this approach, the smart pole wasn’t just a feature; it became the backbone of intelligent urban infrastructure, supported by advanced BMS to make cities not only connected but truly innovative and sustainable. Together, we ensured that every city embraced the full potential of IoT and BMS, with ELKO EP Kuwait at the forefront.

Our journey to becoming a GSAS Certified Service Provider actually began back in 2020 with the Home 2035 smart house project. That was our first real introduction to working with GSAS as a solution provider, and it was there that we recognized how important this certification could be. With a commitment to excellence and sustainability, we decided to fully pursue GSAS certification. Through extensive audits, assessments, and refining our services to meet their rigorous global standards, we transitioned from simply participating in GSAS projects to becoming a GSAS Certified Service Provider. Now, we don’t just offer services; we deliver a promise of quality, sustainability, and innovation.

The journey of the ELKO EP Smart Pole truly began with a vision from Mr. Jiří Konečný, the CEO of ELKO EP in the Czech Republic, to revolutionize urban lighting. From the first prototype to real-time environmental monitoring and public address capabilities, the Smart Pole became a beacon of innovation for smart cities. Today, ELKO EP Kuwait is not only directly involved in this innovation but is also driving it forward right here from Kuwait, continuously refining and adapting the Smart Pole to meet local and regional needs.

In 2020, we reached a major milestone with our involvement in the Home 2035 project in Kuwait. This initiative was all about the future of smart homes, and it became our biggest breakthrough. We delivered what no other company had done at the time: real-time monitoring of electricity and water consumption, gray water recycling, and PV energy production. Both homeowners and the Ministry of Housing and Welfare could monitor these metrics in real time, setting a new standard for smart home technology in Kuwait.

By 2018, building on the insights we gathered, we officially established our automation company in Kuwait. One key discovery during our market study was identifying a gap in the local offerings, something we realized from the Czech Republic could perfectly fill.

Back in 2016, we kicked off our journey by diving into a thorough feasibility and local market study in Kuwait.
